Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our municipal infrastructure team in Columbia, SC. You will lead structural analysis, design, and delivery of water/wastewater facility structures, pump stations, and related buildings from concept through construction.

The role offers technical leadership, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and opportunities to mentor staff, develop contract documents, and support construction with field observations and RFIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural focus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required or preferred.
• 4+ years of structural engineering experience on environmental and building-type structures.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete, masonry, steel, and aluminum structures.
• Prepare design calculations, plans, specs, and construction documents for municipal projects.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve project constraints.
• Provide construction-phase support including shop drawing reviews and RFIs.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to project scopes and budgets.
