Job summary

RK&K is seeking an experienced Structural Project Manager to join our municipal infrastructure team. The role focuses on leading structural projects across water/wastewater and building facilities, with emphasis on budgets, schedules, and client relationships.

You will mentor staff, coordinate with multi-disciplinary leads, and serve as the primary structural contact for clients and subconsultants from concept through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural focus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 10+ years' experience in structural engineering, with emphasis on environmental facilities and building-type structures.
• Proficiency applying building codes and structural design standards (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, ACI 350, AISC 360, TMS 402/602).
• Experience with proposals or technical statements of work.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural scope for a portfolio of environmental projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery to RK&K quality standards.
• Lead project teams in preparing structural analyses, calculations, specifications, and contract documents.
• Develop scopes, fees, and task schedules while tracking budgets and labor hours.
• Provide technical direction on reinforced concrete, structural steel, and masonry structures, including foundations and liquid-retaining structures.
• Perform QA reviews and QA for structural deliverables.
• Mentor engineers to support technical and professional development.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary leads and prime PMs to resolve constraints.
• Serve as primary structural contact for clients and subconsultants; participate in meetings.
• Plan and oversee site investigations, condition assessments, and structural evaluations.
• Develop repair strategies and engineering reports for deteriorated facilities.
• Oversee construction-phase structural services including shop drawings, RFIs, and field observations.
• Ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.
• Maintain PE licensure and pursue ongoing professional development.
