Job summary

Apex is seeking a Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams through design, bidding, and construction phases across the Western U.S. You’ll drive client relations, coordinate engineers, and develop proposals and budgets for diverse projects.

The role emphasizes collaboration, technical excellence, and proactive funding efforts while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders. Location is flexible within the Western U.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in CA, UT, OR, WA or ability to obtain within three months.
• 7+ years of civil engineering experience.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead multidisciplinary project teams.
• Project proposals, scopes, budgets, and successful execution of engineering projects.
• Experience in design through constructability reviews and cost opinions.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and designers through the life cycle of project development, including design documents, bidding, and construction services.
• Establish collaborative relationships to facilitate successful completion of projects.
• Coach less experienced staff on client needs, technical delivery, and written communication.
• Strengthen client relationships with innovative, value-driven solutions and risk management.
• Attend meetings and communicate with clients to understand project needs and stakeholder requirements.
• Support regional business development through networking, proposals, and client presentations.
• Proactively seek state, federal, and other funding for clients.
