Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support our Water/Wastewater practice across New England. The role is hybrid and based in Providence, RI, with travel to local offices as needed.

You will lead technical design, coordinate across disciplines, manage scope and budget, and mentor junior staff while advancing projects from initiation to closeout. Responsibilities include client meetings and presentations, ensuring quality and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of drinking water or wastewater design experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer or pursuing licensure within one year.
• Proven writing skills for memos, reports, proposals, contracts.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing projects.
• Monitor budget and schedule weekly performance.
• Develop scopes, fees, and schedules with sub-consultants.
• Provide technical solutions and lead design coordination.
• Support client meetings and present project deliverables.
• Lead construction administration tasks and site meetings.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to annual reviews.
