Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, invites you to join our Ohio engineering team as a Project Engineer. You will provide engineering support to all divisions and manage projects from design through construction and closeout, helping deliver reliable water and wastewater services.

Under the Engineering Manager, you will plan capital projects, coordinate meetings, and prepare reports for senior management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required and the candidate must have EIT or be able to achieve within 12 months of hire.
Professional Engineer license in the State of Ohio is preferred.
Two+ years of experience in water and wastewater is preferred.
Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills are required.
Knowledge of Ten States Standards, AWWA Standards, WEC Standards.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings.
Communication skills through plan sets.

Responsibilities

Planning for assigned divisions/systems.
Coordinate monthly capital meetings with operational personnel and report capital status to senior management.
Drive the 5-year capital plan for assigned divisions/systems.
Use Powerplant and SAP for assigned projects.
Submit and obtain required permits and approvals.
Obtain necessary easements for assigned projects.
Manage projects through design, permitting, construction and closeout.
Approve pay applications and process invoices.
Prepare all paperwork needed for accounting to close the project.
Perform other duties as assigned.
