Ohio Water & Wastewater Project Engineer

Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, seeks a Project Engineer to support the Ohio region with design and management of water and wastewater projects, including tanks, booster stations, and WTP/WWTP initiatives.

This role reports to Engineering Manager and requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering, EIT or equivalent within 12 months, and 2+ years of water/wastewater experience; Ohio PE license is preferred. AutoCAD Civil 3D and SAP/PowerPlant familiarity is desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required; EIT or ability to achieve within 12 months.
• Professional Engineer license in the State of Ohio is preferred.
• Two or more years of experience in water and wastewater is preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills are required.
• Knowledge of Ten States Standards, AWWA Standards, WEC Standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning for assigned divisions/systems.
• Coordinate monthly capital meetings with operational personnel, tracking capital and reporting to senior management on capital of assigned projects.
• Driver/coordinator of the 5-year capital plan for assigned divisions/systems.
• Utilize Powerplant and SAP for assigned projects.
• Responsible for submittal of any required permits and approvals.
• Responsible for obtaining necessary easements for assigned projects.
• Responsible for project through entire lifecycle; selection, planning including obtaining any, permitting, construction, close out activities.
• Responsible for approving pay applications and the processing of invoices.
• Completes all necessary paperwork needed for accounting to close the project.
• Other duties as assigned.
