Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is seeking a Project Engineer for the Ohio region to provide engineering support across divisions. The role entails design and management of assigned projects within Ohio, including repairs or replacements of tanks, booster stations, lift stations, WTP/WWTP projects, and related components.

Under the Engineering Manager, you will coordinate capital planning, manage the lifecycle of projects, and ensure permitting, easements, and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.
• Engineer In Training (E.I.T.) or ability to achieve within 12 months of hire.
• Professional Engineer license in the State of Ohio preferred.
• Two+ years of experience in water and wastewater preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills required.
• Knowledge of Ten States Standards, AWWA Standards, WEC Standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Word).
• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings.
• Ability to communicate through plan sets.

Responsibilities

• Plan for assigned divisions/systems.
• Coordinate monthly capital meetings and report to senior management on capital of assigned projects.
• Lead the 5-year capital plan for assigned divisions/systems.
• Utilize Powerplant and SAP for assigned projects.
• Submit required permits and approvals.
• Obtain necessary easements for assigned projects.
• Manage projects through lifecycle: planning, permitting, construction, closeout.
• Approve pay applications and process invoices.
• Complete all accounting paperwork to close projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
