Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, has a great opportunity for a Project Engineer in the Ohio region. You will support engineering across divisions, manage design and lifecycle of projects (tanks, stations, WTP/WWTP), and coordinate capital planning with operations.

Under the Engineering Manager, you will utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, PowerPlant and SAP, prepare permits and easements, and ensure project progression from planning to closeout with strong communication and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; EIT or able within 12 months.
• Professional Engineer license in Ohio preferred.
• Two+ years of water and wastewater experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills; ability to coordinate multiple projects.
• Knowledge of Ten States Standards, AWWA Standards, WEC Standards.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Word).
• Ability to read civil engineering drawings and interpret plan sets.
• Strong communication skills through plan sets.

Responsibilities

• Plan for assigned divisions/systems.
• Coordinate monthly capital meetings with operations and report to senior management on capital of assigned projects.
• Drive the 5-year capital plan for assigned divisions/systems.
• Utilize PowerPlant and SAP for assigned projects.
• Submit required permits and approvals.
• Obtain necessary easements for assigned projects.
• Manage project lifecycle from planning through closeout.
• Approve pay applications and process invoices.
• Complete paperwork for accounting to close the project.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
