Job summary

MGC Contractors, Inc. in the Austin area is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Texas Division.

The role involves general contract and subcontract administration, scheduling, procurement, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and piping systems for water and wastewater projects. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, 2–3 years of field experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related program is required.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2–3 years of prior construction field experience is required; water and wastewater experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
• Effective oral and written communication skills and quick response time to inquiries.

Responsibilities

• General Contract and Subcontract administration.
• Construction scheduling.
• Procurement and expediting of material and equipment.
• Coordination of mechanical, electrical and piping systems.
• Project cost review, reporting, updating, and accounting.
• Review of subcontractor applications for payment.
• Participation in project meetings.
• Supervision/coordination of subcontractors' field installations.
• Review/negotiate change proposal pricing from subcontractors and prepare change proposals for self-performed work.
• Research and suggest options on construction means, methods and equipment.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with owners, vendors, and subcontractors.
