Job summary

MGC Contractors, Inc. in El Paso, TX is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Texas Division.

You will support general contracting and subcontract administration, scheduling, procurement, and coordination of mechanical, electrical, and piping systems across field and office environments. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field, and prior construction experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor degree in Construction Management or related Program required.
• Prior construction field experience preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
• Effective Communication Skills both oral and written, and quick response time to inquiries.

Responsibilities

• General Contract and Subcontract administration.
• Construction scheduling.
• Procurement and expediting of material and equipment.
• Mechanical, electrical and piping systems coordination.
• Project cost review, reporting, updating, and accounting.
• Review of subcontractor applications for payment.
• Participation in project meetings.
• Supervision/coordination of subcontractors field installations.
• Review/negotiate change proposal pricing from subcontractors and prepare change proposals for self-performed work.
• Research and suggest options on construction means, methods and equipment.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with owners, vendors, subcontractors.
