Job summary

RESPEC seeks a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer in Colorado, with opportunities across Colorado Springs, Loveland, and Denver. The role focuses on solving water and wastewater challenges for clients, leading engineering tasks and coordinating project teams in a multidisciplinary environment.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil/Environmental Engineering, 8+ years of related experience, and a PE license or reciprocity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in water and wastewater facilities (treatment, collection, distribution, pumping).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain Colorado licensure via reciprocity.
  • Experience leading engineering tasks and coordinating project teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess a valid driver''s license and be willing to travel for business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering tasks and coordinate project teams on water/wastewater projects.
  • Design infrastructure and manage scopes, budgets and schedules.
  • Collaborate with municipal clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance throughout projects.

Job Description

RESPEC, seeks a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer in our Water market sector, located in Colorado Springs, Loveland, and Denver, Colorado.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience related to water and wastewater facilities, including treatment, collection, distribution, and pumping systems
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain Colorado licensure through reciprocity
  • Experience leading engineering tasks and coordinating project teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel

Preferred:

  • Experience serving as a technical lead on complex water and wastewater projects
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic engineering principles and water/wastewater infrastructure
  • Experience developing scopes of work, project budgets, schedules, and professional service proposals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GIS, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience working directly with municipal clients and regulatory agencies
  • Active participation in professional organizations and industry conferences
Additional Information

Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. The typical salary range for this position is $100,000 to $155,000 Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package.RESPEC is a 100 percent employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
