Job summary

RESPEC, a 100% employee-owned engineering firm, seeks a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer for positions across Colorado Springs, Loveland, and Denver. The role advances water and wastewater infrastructure projects through design, analysis, and client coordination.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage scopes of work and budgets, and interact with municipal clients and regulators to deliver sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain Colorado licensure via reciprocity.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in water and wastewater facilities incl. treatment, collection, distribution, pumping systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering tasks and coordinate project teams.
  • Develop scopes of work, budgets, schedules and proposals for water/wastewater projects.
  • Interface with municipal clients and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance.

RESPEC, seeks a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer in our Water market sector, located in Colorado Springs, Loveland, and Denver, Colorado.

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience related to water and wastewater facilities, including treatment, collection, distribution, and pumping systems
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain Colorado licensure through reciprocity
  • Experience leading engineering tasks and coordinating project teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel

Preferred:

  • Experience serving as a technical lead on complex water and wastewater projects
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic engineering principles and water/wastewater infrastructure
  • Experience developing scopes of work, project budgets, schedules, and professional service proposals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GIS, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience working directly with municipal clients and regulatory agencies
  • Active participation in professional organizations and industry conferences

Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. The typical salary range for this position is $100,000 to $155,000 Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package.RESPEC is a 100 percent employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
