Job summary

RESPEC seeks a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our Water market sector in Colorado. You will work with clients and multidisciplinary teams on projects spanning Colorado Springs, Loveland, and Denver, delivering innovative water and wastewater solutions.

You will lead technical tasks, coordinate teams, and engage with municipal partners, while applying hydraulic principles and data-driven approaches to ensure compliant, sustainable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience related to water and wastewater facilities, including treatment, collection, distribution, and pumping systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain Colorado licensure through reciprocity.
  • Experience leading engineering tasks and coordinating project teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering tasks and coordinate project teams on water/wastewater projects.
  • Design infrastructure and facilities for water and wastewater systems, including treatment and pumping.
  • Communicate with municipal clients and regulatory agencies; manage scopes, budgets, and schedules.

RESPEC, seeks a Water/Wastewater Project Engineer in our Water market sector, located in Colorado Springs, Loveland, and Denver, Colorado.

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience related to water and wastewater facilities, including treatment, collection, distribution, and pumping systems
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain Colorado licensure through reciprocity
  • Experience leading engineering tasks and coordinating project teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel

Preferred:

  • Experience serving as a technical lead on complex water and wastewater projects
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic engineering principles and water/wastewater infrastructure
  • Experience developing scopes of work, project budgets, schedules, and professional service proposals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, GIS, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience working directly with municipal clients and regulatory agencies
  • Active participation in professional organizations and industry conferences

Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. The typical salary range for this position is $100,000 to $155,000 Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package.RESPEC is a 100 percent employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) after a qualifying period.
