Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. in Phoenix seeks a Water Preconstruction Director to lead all preconstruction efforts on large water and wastewater projects, from pursuit through GMP.

The role drives strategy, client relationships, and cost estimating, while mentoring preconstruction staff and advancing McCarthy’s water market. You will guide CMAR and Progressive Design-Build efforts, coordinate with operations and design management, manage risk and budget, and present deliverables to owners

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering (or equivalent).
• 10+ years of experience in estimating, design management and/or field management.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication with owners, design teams, trade partners and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Lead all preconstruction efforts for large water/wastewater projects.
• Develop pursuit strategy and client-facing activities.
• Manage cost estimates from design milestones (10% to 100%).
• Coordinate with operations, estimating and design management.
• Mentor preconstruction staff and manage risk management.
• Present deliverables to owners per guidelines.
