McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Water Preconstruction Director to lead all preconstruction efforts on large water and wastewater projects, guiding pursuit strategy, budgeting, design development, and GMP.

The role serves as the liaison between operations, estimating, and design management, and builds strong owner and vendor relationships. You will mentor preconstruction staff, manage risk, and ensure schedule alignment with contract requirements while applying McCarthy's values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in preconstruction, design management or field management.
• Strong knowledge of water and wastewater construction principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction for large water/wastewater projects through GMP milestones.
• Develop and manage cost estimates at all design stages (10%–100%).
• Coordinate with owners, designers, trade partners and vendors.
• Mentor preconstruction staff and manage risk identification and mitigation.
• Ensure adherence to contractual requirements and budget control during construction.
