Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Water Preconstruction Director to lead all preconstruction efforts on large, complex water and wastewater projects, guiding pursuit strategy, client-facing activities, and collaborative delivery methods from pursuit through GMP.

The role manages risk, budget control, and develop design and cost estimates from concept through GMP, while building strong relationships with owners, designers, trade partners, and vendors and mentoring preconstruction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
• 10+ years of preconstruction/estimation experience on large complex water projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction for large water and wastewater projects across CMAR and Progressive Design-Build.
• Develop pursuit strategy and participate in client meetings and RFP responses.
• Prepare and manage cost estimates from concept to GMP and oversee schedules.
• Coordinate risk identification and mitigation with owners, designers, and vendors.
• Mentor preconstruction staff and maintain key stakeholder relationships.
