Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Plant Operator to provide day-to-day monitoring and basic plant and pump station operations. You will conduct routine lab tests, perform preventative maintenance, and ensure compliance with state permits while working in a team environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Grade 1 WW certification within 2 years. On-site work and occasional on-call shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with ability to read, write and comprehend English and follow instructions.
• Must be able to acquire Grade 1 WW certification within 2 years.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and read meters, gauges and panels.
• Willingness to work in a team and assume additional responsibilities.
• Willingness to participate in 24-hour on-call rotations as required.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment and monitor process control systems per procedures.
• Collect wastewater and other samples, perform field tests and laboratory analyses for compliance.
• Calibrate benchtop and portable meters (pH, DO, BOD, TSS, etc.).
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance and handle waste safely.
• Operate vehicles and material handling equipment as needed.
