Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC is seeking an on-site Water/Wastewater Operator to monitor and operate plant and pump station equipment, conduct routine lab tests, and perform preventive maintenance. This role requires strict adherence to safety and environmental policies and involves on-call duties.

Responsibilities include sampling, instrument calibration, data logging, and basic troubleshooting to maintain state permit compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, with the ability to read, write and comprehend English and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to acquire a Grade 1 WW certification within 2 years.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Employee Orientation, Departmental Operating Procedures, Safety, OSHA and Quality Training.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment manually and via control panels and PLCs following procedures.
• Collect wastewater and other samples; perform field tests and lab analysis to ensure permit compliance.
• Calibrate benchtop and portable meters (e.g., DO, pH, BOD, TSS).
• Perform routine cleaning of equipment and facilities; dispose of waste per safety policies.
• Operate vehicles and material handling equipment as needed.
