Job summary

Veolia in North America is seeking a Plant Operator to provide day-to-day monitoring of plant and pump station operations, perform routine lab tests and basic preventative maintenance per established procedures.

Responsibilities include operating equipment via control panels and PLCs, collecting wastewater samples, calibrating meters, and maintaining clean facilities. This role requires 25–35% outdoor exposure and may involve a 24-hour on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required to read, write and comprehend instructions.
• Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Must obtain Grade 1 WW certification within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment manually and via instrumentation panels and PLCs per procedures.
• Collect wastewater samples and perform lab tests to maintain permit compliance.
• Calibrate benchtop and portable meters (e.g., DO, pH, BOD, TSS).
• Perform routine cleaning and proper waste disposal per safety policies.
• Operate vehicles and material handling equipment as needed.
• Be available for rotational 24-hour emergency on-call if required.
