Job summary

Nexus Water Group, through its Sunshine Water Services operation, seeks a Water-Wastewater Operator II in the Longwood, FL region. This role performs routine tasks to operate and maintain treatment facilities, ensures compliance with EPA/state standards, and supports safety and quality initiatives.

Travel between nearby service areas is required; schedule is Monday–Friday with on-call responsibilities after hours and weekends.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years mechanical experience, with at least 3 years in chemical treatment of water and/or wastewater.
• Experience in operation and maintenance of groundwater sourced water systems and distribution.
• Second-level operator license or in process of obtaining third-level license; valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains water and/or wastewater treatment equipment.
• Monitors and samples wells and groundwater entering the system; adjusts treatment as needed.
• Performs routine repairs and coordinates major repairs with outside vendors.
• Back-washes filters; handles chlorine safely and maintains related equipment.
• Keeps logs and reports on meter readings, chemical usage, and equipment performance.
• Works on-call and travels between worksites as required.
