Job summary

Nexus Water Group is seeking an Operator Water-Wastewater I for our Newland, NC facility to perform routine treatment tasks and support plant compliance with EPA standards. The role involves operating equipment, recording readings, and maintaining logs across multiple plants in the service area.

The position requires 2–4 years of mechanical experience with chemical treatment, a first-level operator license (or ability to obtain within 1 year), and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years mechanical experience with chemical treatment of water and/or wastewater.
• Current first-level operator license per state regulation or ability to attain within 1 year.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Detect and report atypical conditions (damaged meters, leaks, abnormal consumption, safety hazards).
• Perform repairs or shut down equipment for maintenance; coordinate major repairs as needed.
• Operate pumps, valves, and equipment to move water through treatment processes; dispose of wastes per procedures.
