Job summary

Woodard & Curran is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a water utility system in Florida. The role covers routine, preventive and corrective maintenance of a water and wastewater facility, collection system, and meters.

You will operate and maintain equipment, ensure compliance with permit requirements, and document operational status daily. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance, Florida Class C Collection certification, and proficiency with

Qualifications

• High school or trade school diploma required.
• A valid driver’s license.
• 7+ years of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance experience.
• Florida Class C Collection certification.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, CMMS and SCADA.
• Experience with maintenance of pumps, compressors and plumbing fixtures.
• Knowledge of maintenance tools/methods for mechanical and electrical equipment in wastewater systems.
• Knowledge of the National Electric Code.
• Knowledge of PLC operation and industrial electronics.
• Safely perform welding and read manuals/drawings; maintain CMMS records.
• Troubleshoot electromechanical control systems; calibrate instrumentation; install conduit/plumbing.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Knowledge of safety precautions in wastewater treatment.
• Clear written and spoken communication.
• Lift up to 40 pounds.
• Background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Perform housekeeping duties in maintenance department and on maintenance vehicles.
• Follow safety, operating and emergency procedures.
• Meet goals set by the project manager.
• Operate plant equipment including pumps, aerators and meters.
• Maintain and adjust equipment to meet permit requirements.
• Daily checks of the facility to document operational status and maintenance needs.
