Job summary

City of Clearwater is seeking an entry-level Utilities Mechanic to perform skilled mechanical work in water, reclaimed water, and wastewater systems. Under supervision, you will repair, maintain, and recondition machinery and lift stations to ensure continuous operation.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and about 3 years of related experience, with a valid driver's license. The position includes field work and collaboration with other utilities staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 3 years of skilled mechanical/electrical work experience.
• Experience with maintenance and repair of heavy machinery and pumps.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment and facilities daily; identify leaks and maintenance needs.
• Change oil, replace belts, grease components, and record maintenance activities.
• Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, motors, valves, and related gear.
• Repair or replace pumps, motors, actuators, gearboxes, and related parts.
• Assist electricians and technicians on installation tasks and equipment upgrades.
• Operate and maintain water/wastewater lift stations and related infrastructure.
