Job summary

The Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority is seeking a Wastewater Maintenance Mechanic C to maintain and repair wastewater treatment facilities, pumps, valves, and related equipment under supervision.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Florida driver's license, and within 12 months a Florida Class A CDL; duties cover electrical, mechanical, and carpentry tasks across treatment plants and collection systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; supplemented by college level coursework in pipefitting, mechanical, pumps, electrical.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.
• Must obtain a valid Florida Class A CDL within 12 months of hire.
• Must be able to communicate and comprehend the English language.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and maintenance on mechanical equipment, valves, piping, gauges, and related equipment in wastewater facilities.
• Maintains equipment including vacuum pump stations, chemical feed systems, tanks, mixers, and filters.
• Performs basic electrical troubleshooting on control and power circuits and motors.
• Assists with modifications of wastewater collection systems and treatment facilities.
• Keeps work areas clean and organized and coordinates with supervisors to review status.
