Job summary

U.S. Water Services Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform construction, maintenance and repair on water and wastewater utility system equipment and company facilities.

The role requires troubleshooting electrical, mechanical and piping problems, reading meters, and performing lift station and manhole inspections in outdoor environments. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Motor Vehicle Operator License.
• Ability to demonstrate mechanical, electrical or plumbing aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist in investigating utility systems and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and piping problems.
• Respond to maintenance schedules for equipment and vehicles and assist with emergency calls.
• Maintain equipment of plant, collection or distribution facilities and manage vehicle/tools inventory.
• Coordinate labor and supplies for day-to-day requirements.
• Keep maintenance records up-to-date including work orders and related forms.
• May assist with reading meters, cleaning and painting, and loading/unloading materials.
• Perform lift station inspections and test alarm/communication systems.
• Inspect manholes and hydrants and complete required reports.
