Job summary

Woodard & Curran is seeking an entry-level Water/Wastewater Field Service Technician to help operate and maintain wastewater collection and water distribution systems. Outdoor work includes lift stations, water plants, and related assets, with room to grow within the utility sector.

You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, monitor equipment, and support on-call duties. A Florida driver’s license and willingness to learn are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard high school or vocational school, including or supplemented by courses in mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation maintenance.
• Experience in operation and maintenance of pumps, compressors, electric motors, and plumbing fixtures preferred.
• Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on lift stations, E-1 grinder pump stations, water plants, splash pad facilities, wastewater plants, and associated assets, including generators, auxiliary pumps, blowers, and inspections.
• Repair leaks to water lines, sewer E-1 pressurized lines, and force mains as needed.
• Replace lift station and/or E-1 submersible pumps when required.
• Install and replace water meters as needed.
• Perform monthly meter readings.
• Work with utility billing and customer service functions.
