Job summary

GHD is seeking an experienced Resident Project Representative/Construction Inspector to support water and wastewater projects in the Bowie, MD and Chantilly, VA region. The role requires field verification of conformance with contract documents and coordination with multiple stakeholders on-site.

You will oversee subcontractors, review submittals, manage documentation, and assist in schedule and closeout activities while traveling 90–100% of the time for field work.

Qualifications

• 8-15 years of experience in general contracting, construction inspection and/or construction management.
• Experience reading and understanding construction plans and specifications.
• Familiar with Soil Erosion & Sediment Control standards.
• Able to work in the field 90-100% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Represent GHD as the on-site liaison between the construction manager, Owner and Contractor.
• Provide on-site observation of construction activities including reviewing products against approved submittals.
• Administer weekly onsite coordination meetings with the Contractor, Owner, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate and oversee third-party materials testing (soils and concrete).
• Work with client operations staff to coordinate shutdowns and other construction activities affecting Owner operations.
• Maintain an on-site set of redline drawings documenting final installed materials/equipment and deviations.
• Assist with contract closeout documentation.
• Assist in construction schedule reviews.
• Acquire and maintain certificates, submittals, testing reports, and other construction correspondence.
• Use GHD document management system for submittals, RFIs, change management and daily field reports.
