Job summary

GHD in Bowie, MD seeks a Resident Project Representative focused on water/wastewater facilities construction. You will serve as the on-site liaison between the construction manager, Owner, and contractor to verify conformance with contract documents through construction.

The role involves daily field oversight, coordinating meetings, managing third-party testing, and maintaining redline drawings and project records to support schedule and closeout activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in construction inspection and/or management for facilities work.
• Experience with municipal water/wastewater projects and plant technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Experience interpreting critical path schedules with 500+ activities.
• Familiarity with Procore and web-based CM systems.
• Knowledge of permits for building, grading, erosion control, stormwater, discharge, and dewatering.
• Experience coordinating with multiple subcontractors and stakeholders; strong communication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site observation of construction activities and review submittals against approved plans.
• Administer weekly onsite coordination meetings with the Contractor, Owner, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate and oversee third-party materials testing such as soils and concrete.
• Work with operations staff to coordinate shutdowns and other activities affecting daily plant operations.
• Maintain on-site redline drawings documenting final installed materials and project deviations.
• Assist with contract closeout documentation and records.
• Assist in construction schedule reviews.
• Acquire and maintain certificates, submittals, testing reports, and O&M manuals.
• Use a web-based document management system for submittals, RFIs, changes, and daily field reports.
