Job summary

GRW Engineers, Inc. seeks an experienced Resident Project Representative to provide full-time on-site construction observation for water and wastewater projects. You will review plans and specifications to ensure conformance with project documents.

The role requires strong code knowledge, meticulous documentation of work and quantities, and the ability to collaborate with builders, contractors and clients under deadlines. Excellent English communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (or higher) or Certification/Licensing in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Construction Technology or a related field, four or more years of direct experience in observation, design, or construction experience
• Knowledge and understanding of federal, state, county and local codes
• The ability to read, understand, and apply code requirements as they apply to construction situations
• The ability to clearly, accurately, and completely document the completed work, including tracking pay item quantities, as well as identifying defective work
• The ability to work under little or no regular supervision
• The ability to maintain an effective working relationship with builders, contractors, consultants, fellow employees, other departments, and the general public
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with team members and other disciplines
• High level of organizational & time management skills and attention to detail
• Must be able to meet deadlines in a demanding environment
• Excellent computer skills desired

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and specifications on site.
• Provide full-time on-site observation to ensure conformance with plans and specifications.
• Document completed work and track pay item quantities; identify defective work.
• Coordinate with builders, contractors, consultants, and clients to resolve field issues.
