Job summary

Rinker Design Associates, LLC is seeking a Resident Project Representative to provide advanced on-site construction observation and inspection for public infra projects in Abingdon, VA. You will serve as the Engineer’s field representative, monitor progress, verify contract compliance, coordinate with stakeholders, and maintain thorough project documentation.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of civil/site inspection experience, the ability to read plans and specs, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Approximately 4+ years of civil/site/infrastructure construction inspection experience.
• Experience with water, sewer, stormwater, roadway and site infra projects.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Observe construction progress and ensure compliance with plans and specs.
• Review plans and specs to identify discrepancies before work.
• Coordinate daily with contractor personnel and owner reps.
• Attend progress meetings and document field activities.
• Maintain organized field documentation and photos.
• Prepare daily inspection reports with site photos.
• Document field testing and report deficiencies to the engineer.
• Evaluate contractor requests and propose modifications as needed.
• Review schedules, quantities, materials, and percent complete.
• Process payment applications and provide engineer recommendations.
• Verify required certifications and manuals per contract.
