Job summary

Stantec seeks a licensed Electrical Engineer to lead the design and engineering of water and wastewater projects. You will serve as Engineer-of-Record, sizing and specifying electrical systems, and guiding teams through design, field investigations, and client coordination.

You will develop construction packages, estimate costs, and contribute to business development. Strong communication, mentoring, and proficiency in AutoCAD/Bentley and ETAP/SKM/EasyPower are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of industry standards and electrical/building codes.
• Understanding of all phases of project document production and relationship between drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, means and methods, materials and industry standards in water/wastewater.
• Ability to lead one or more teams through all phases of project document production.
• Ability to manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• MS Office, AutoCAD/Bentley; Revit is an asset.
• Experience with ETAP/SKM/EasyPower is an asset.
• Mentoring and professional development of staff.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Engineer-of-Record for projects and/or components of varying complexity.
• Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers electrical systems or products for a project.
• Develops design sketches, models, diagrams and other visuals.
• Develops 3D models of electrical systems.
• Provides guidance and mentorship for junior engineers and designers.
• Prepares and revises design and construction documents (plans, diagrams, details).
• Leads project coordination meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Participates in client meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.
• Manages project scope, budget, staffing and schedule.
• Leads preparation and coordination of project specifications with construction documents.
• Participates in constructability reviews and QA/QC.
• Develops standards for the electrical group.
• Oversees multiple projects and field reviews.
