Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Phoenix, AZ office has an opening for a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of municipal wastewater design experience to join the Water/Wastewater and Utilities team. This is not a remote position, and you will contribute to water transmission, distribution, pumping stations, and treatment projects.

You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, develop plans, and participate in project budgets and schedules while receiving mentorship and formal training to advance

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant municipal wastewater engineering design experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
• "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• Experience designing pipelines, pump stations, and hydraulic modeling.
• Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently and on a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design of water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, and water treatment systems.
• Contribute to water/wastewater distribution planning, master planning, and treatment plant rehabilitation.
• Manage project tasks, design work, permitting, and construction coordination.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to complete projects.
• Ensure high-quality plan sets and review colleagues' work.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
