Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Phoenix, AZ office seeks a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 3+ years of experience to join the Surface Water team. The role involves surface water studies, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and design work in a dynamic team environment.

The candidate will work on flood studies, resiliency assessments, and green infrastructure projects, with on-the-job and formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production and client interactions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with surface water modeling and/or design.
• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree (B.S. or M.S.).
• EI/Engineering Intern certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Experience building and calibrating hydraulic/hydrology models (ICPR4, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS 1D/2D, SWMM).
• Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS; CAD tools a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to surface water management studies and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling.
• Perform analysis and design on a range of Surface Water projects.
• Engage in flood studies, resiliency and vulnerability assessments, and green infrastructure planning.
• Support plan production, project financials, and client interactions as part of a mentoring team.
