Kimley-Horn's West Palm Beach, FL office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 3+ years of experience to join their Water/Wastewater and Utilities team. This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities include assisting in designing water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, and water treatment facilities, while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team and monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant municipal wastewater engineering design experience.
  • ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
  • Engineer-In-Training certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Experience designing pipelines, pump stations, and hydraulic modeling.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, and treatment facilities.
  • Contribute to municipal water and wastewater utility designs and master planning.
  • Manage project tasks, design, permitting, construction coordination, and team collaboration.
  • Coordinate work with multidisciplinary team to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Maintain high-quality plan sets and review colleagues' work.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
  • Engage in mentorship and training to develop plan production and client interactions.

Overview

Kimley-Horn's West Palm Beach, Florida (FL) office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 3+ years of experience to join their Water/Wastewater and Utilities team! This is not a remote position.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible with assisting in the design of water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, conveyance systems, water treatment systems, water/wastewater distribution planning, master planning, and treatment plant rehabilitation and expansions
  • Projects will include a variety of municipal water and wastewater utilities designs
  • In addition to strong technical experience, other responsibilities will include managing project tasks, project design and permitting, construction coordination, and coordinating work with other team members
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to contribute to the successful completion of assigned projects
  • Maintaining a high degree of quality sets of plans along with checking the work of others
  • Assist in monitoring project progress, budgets, and schedules
  • As a critical member of the team, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks and will receive both on-the-job and formal training as well as mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of relevant municipal wastewater engineering design experience
  • Bachelors or Masters from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering
  • "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
  • Experience with designing pipelines, pump stations, and hydraulic modeling calculation
  • Experience using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Communicating technical thoughts clearly and concisely
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
