Job summary

Garney is seeking a Business Development Manager with water and wastewater experience to drive regional growth and client engagement in the Atlanta area. The role requires understanding collaborative delivery methods and leading pursuit teams across proposals, marketing, and operations.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or equivalent preferred (Engineering or Construction Management a plus).
• At least 5 years of diversified experience in water infrastructure program/project management and strategic business development preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of CMAR, Design Build, P3 and other collaborative delivery methods required.
• Prior business development or sales experience is a plus.
• Proposal development and creative writing skills are a plus.
• Strong work ethic, self-motivated and results driven.
• Willingness to travel occasionally with short notice.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains relationships with regional public, private, and industrial clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Develops and leads regional business development strategy with Operations teams.
• Understands client needs and project drivers and discusses business challenges.
• Leads Go/No-Go decisions and provides essential information to pursue viability.
• Leads the proposal process from capture planning to submission/interview stage.
• Leads regional marketing and branding plans with corporate marketing.
• Collaborates with Garney Marketing, Estimating, and Operations to introduce Garney to prospects.
• Documents prospect activity in Garney’s CRM (Cosential / Unanet).
