Job summary

City of Atlanta is seeking a Public Customer Service Representative to handle in-person inquiries, maintain utility records, and process service applications for water services. You will assist customers with new service, billing, and meter issues while delivering courteous service.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience – High school diploma, or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of customer service experience.
• Valid State of Georgia driver’s license.
• Preferred – Technical or Vocational course in Construction, Utility Management, or related area, and five (5) years in water distribution.

Responsibilities

• Responds to questions, complaints, or requests for service to determine proper response.
• Research requests, problems, and complaints and initiates appropriate action.
• Enter, retrieve, review, or modify data in computer database and verify accuracy.
• Set up or disconnect utility service in-person.
• Process water and sewer meter applications meeting City requirements.
• Investigates billing complaints and submits account adjustments.
• Communicate with customers by telephone, email, or other means.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with staff and the public.
