Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is hiring a Utility Worker I for the Susquehanna location. The role involves repairing mains and leaks, installing new services, and performing valve and hydrant work.

You will also perform water main mark outs under PA One Call rules and conduct monthly leak detection using company equipment. The position requires lifting up to 100 lbs, a High School diploma, and the ability to obtain PA Waterworks Class B licensing and a CDL within required timeframes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• DOT Medical exam passes as part of hiring.
• Able to lift 100 lbs.
• CDL within 120 days from date of hire.
• PA Waterworks Class B licensing within 36 months of hire.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains water distribution facilities (mains, valves, hydrants, service lines).
• Ensures work complies with EPA/PUC regulations and safety policies.
• Reads maps, drawings, and GIS data.
• Performs field service and meter-reading tasks.
• Responds to after-hours calls and overtime as required.
• Operates backhoes, excavators, dump trucks and other vehicles.
• Documents work in the work order system.
