Job summary

Aqua America, Inc. is hiring a Utility Worker I for its Susquehanna location. The role focuses on repairing main breaks, service leaks, installing new services, and maintaining valves and hydrants.

You will also perform water main mark outs per PA One Call rules and conduct monthly leak detection using company equipment. Reporting to the Field Supervisor, you will document work in the company’s order system via a handheld device and may operate a backhoe or related machinery.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Candidate must be able to lift 100 lbs.
• DOT medical exam required as part of hiring process.
• CDL license must be obtained within 120 days from date of hire.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office and web-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains water distribution system facilities (mains, valves, hydrants, service lines).
• Reads maps, drawings and schematics including GIS data.
• Performs field service representative and meter reading work as assigned.
• Responds to after-hours calls for emergencies and overtime as needed.
