Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is looking for a field service technician to install, maintain, and monitor meters and related devices. You will process work orders, interact with customers, and operate service equipment with a focus on safety and reliability.

The role requires a valid US driver’s license, a distribution license, and the ability to work in varied conditions, including travel to customer sites and occasional after-hours work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid US Driver’s license.
• OEPA Class I Distribution License or obtain one within bargaining unit agreement.
• Meet the physical requirements for the position.

Responsibilities

• Installs, removes, and maintains meters, remote reading devices and protective devices at service locations.
• Receives and processes work orders and emails using a tablet or computer.
• Safely operates, maintains, monitors, and controls service department equipment per processes.
• Operates and inspects customer service lines, metering devices and appurtenances.
• Operates and maintains an assigned vehicle per safety and maintenance guidelines.
• Reports unusual conditions in the distribution system to the supervisor.
• Responds to customer water service inquiries; performs leak checks and meter readings as needed.
• Locates, operates, closes, and blocks curb stops and valves to terminate service for delinquent accounts.
