Job summary

City of Peoria, AZ is seeking an experienced maintenance/instrumentation technician to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, programming, testing, and commissioning of electrical, instrumentation, automation, PLC, and SCADA systems at water and wastewater plants and remote sites.

The ideal candidate will have a 2-year college program or equivalent, 2 years of experience, knowledge of 12,470 VAC, PLC/HMI programming, documentation skills, and the ability to work standby shifts.

Qualifications

• Two-year college program, apprenticeship, or equivalent combinations resulting in accumulation of similar knowledge or skills.
• Must have 2 years’ experience in advanced instrumentation and electrical controls technologies.
• Must have knowledge of electrical safety and troubleshooting up to 12,470 VAC; PLC and HMI programming.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, programming, testing, and commissioning of electrical, instrumentation, automation, PLC, and SCADA systems for water and wastewater treatment plants and remote sites.
• Differentiate between all colors of the spectrum and work in rotating standby detail approximately one week every six weeks.
• Read and interpret system drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams; document work and ensure safety compliance.
