Job summary

The City of Peoria seeks a skilled technician to maintain and optimize electrical, instrumentation, PLC, and SCADA systems at water and wastewater plants and remote sites. You will troubleshoot, program, test, and commission complex automation equipment to ensure reliable operation.

The ideal candidate has a two-year college program or apprenticeship, at least two years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of PLC/HMI software, electrical safety, and control system diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Two-year college program or apprenticeship or equivalent knowledge.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in instrumentation and electrical controls.
• Experience with electrical safety and troubleshooting up to 12,470 VAC.
• Experience: PLC and HMI programming knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, program, test, and commission SCADA/PLC systems.
• Work on electrical, instrumentation, and automation equipment for water and wastewater plants and remote sites.
• Operate and monitor system components, diagnose issues, and document results.
• Read and interpret system drawings and wiring diagrams.
