Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Field SCADA Technician to support our Process Control department. Based onsite, you will maintain and enhance SCADA/PLC/HMI systems to ensure reliable water and wastewater services.

You will also have opportunities to develop and startup new control systems under guidance, balancing independent work with team collaboration. Qualified candidates have 5+ years in the field, a technical degree or equivalent experience, and hands-on PLC/SCADA skills.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or relevant technical experience.
• 5+ years' experience in related field.
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs / RSLogix, Modicon PLCs / Unity, and Wonderware.
• Preferably 2 years of Water or Wastewater experience.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and maintains PLC, OIT, and HMI programs used to operate and control water and wastewater facilities.
• Troubleshoots and maintains communications devices such as switches, radios, routers, and modems.
• Builds strong working relationships with operations staff to resolve monitoring and control issues and tests modifications from PLC to end display.
• Partners with electricians and instrument techs to ensure field devices are monitored and controlled by the PLC.
• Performs additions and upgrades to PLC, OIT, and HMI programs including startup and testing.
• Delivers turnkey systems from development through startup and commissioning with project plans.
• Updates and maintains documentation for all field modifications.
• Assists with other tasks or projects as assigned.
