Job summary

A. O. Smith Corporation is seeking a field sales representative to promote water heating and treatment products to plumbers and contractors in the local market. The role includes field visits, reporting, and participating in campaigns to grow the business.

You will provide basic service/start‑up of equipment, attend trade association meetings, and work to meet budgetary goals while presenting a professional image. A Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Sales or Account Management experience required.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Experience in water treatment or wholesale is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Solicit business from plumbers and contractors regularly.
• Submit weekly written call reports to the manager.
• Submit weekly expense reports.
• Co‑author the annual sales report with the manager.
• Provide basic service and start‑up of equipment with required tools.
• Represent the company at local trade association meetings to promote products.
• Analyze and control expenditures to meet budgets.
• Promote the NAWT product line with professional, effective sales.
• Respond to campaigns with positive, timely support.
• Report product quality, delivery, or inventory issues to management.
• Present a professional image in appearance.
• Assist management with sales data requests.
• Pursue self‑improvement activities like public speaking, product knowledge, and sales skills.
• Other responsibilities as needed.
