Job summary

Cooper Farms in Van Wert, OH is seeking a 2nd shift Water Systems Technician to monitor and maintain water and wastewater systems at our Cooked Meats Plant.

This role runs Monday–Friday, 2:00pm–10:30pm, with an hourly rate of $21.65–$27.65 depending on experience, plus monthly and year-end profit sharing bonuses.

Ideal candidates have basic maintenance knowledge, water treatment familiarity, and basic computer skills, and can ensure EPA compliance and paperwork.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of maintenance and water control operations.
• Water treatment system knowledge and potable water distribution experience for a non-transient, non-community water system.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Take water and wastewater samples daily/weekly/monthly as needed.
• Operate and monitor water systems equipment.
• Complete maintenance and repairs on water systems and lagoon equipment.
• Ensure compliance with EPA regulations and complete required paperwork.
• Monitor and replace chemicals for water systems; assist in sludge removal weekly.

Cooper Farms is currently seeking a 2nd shift Water Systems Technician to join our team in Van Wert.

Shift Hours

Monday through Friday 2:00pm-10:30pm

Hourly Rate

$21.65 - $27.65 depending on experience

Job Functions

• Take water and wastewater samples on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, as needed.


• Operate and monitor all water systems equipment.


• Complete maintenance and repairs on water systems and lagoon equipment.


• Ensure compliance with all EPA regulations.


• Complete required EPA paperwork.


• Monitor and replace chemicals for water systems.


• Monitor and assist in sludge removal on a weekly basis.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge and experience in all facets of maintenance and water control operations is required


• Prior water treatment system knowledge and potable water distribution experience for a non-transient, non-community water system


• Basic computer knowledge and competency is essential
