McMillen, Inc. is seeking a skilled Millwright for assembling, maintaining, and machining critical components for water resource facilities.

The role emphasizes mechanical expertise, precision machining, and strict safety practices to support infrastructure projects. The candidate will install and service pumps, valves, motors, and gearboxes, conduct preventive maintenance, read blueprints, and collaborate with engineers to improve system reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; completion of a millwright or machinist apprenticeship or technical program preferred.
• Familiarity with pumps, valves, and other water treatment and distribution components.
• Proficiency operating machining tools, including lathes, mills, and grinders.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Adherence to safety protocols and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, and maintain pumps, valves, motors, gearboxes, and other mechanical components used in water treatment and distribution systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including disassembly, replacement, and reassembly of parts.
• Operate lathes, milling machines, and other precision tools to fabricate and repair parts.
• Modify or customize components to meet specific operational needs.
• Perform welding and fabrication for infrastructure repair and reinforcement.
• Inspect mechanical systems for wear, corrosion, and performance issues.
• Collaborate with engineers to implement solutions for improving system functionality.
