Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; apprenticeship or technical program preferred.
• Familiarity with pumps, valves, and water treatment/distribution components.
• Proficiency with machining tools (lathes, mills, grinders).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and manuals.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, and maintain pumps, valves, motors, gearboxes, and other mechanical components used in water treatment and distribution systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery to reduce downtime.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues including disassembly and reassembly of parts.
• Operate lathes, milling machines, and other precision tools to fabricate parts.
• Modify or customize components to meet operating needs.
• Perform welding and fabrication for infrastructure repair and reinforcement.
• Inspect mechanical systems for wear, corrosion, and performance issues.
• Collaborate with engineers to implement solutions for improving system functionality.
• Adhere to safety protocols including LOTO and PPE.
