The Millwright position involves assembling, maintaining, and machining components for water treatment and distribution systems, with a strong emphasis on safety and environmental stewardship. You will install and align pumps, valves, motors, and gearboxes; perform preventive maintenance; read blueprints; weld and fabricate as needed; work with engineers and maintenance teams; and uphold strict PPE and LOTO

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; completion of millwright/machinist apprenticeship or technical program preferred.
• Familiarity with pumps, valves, and water treatment/distribution components.
• Proficiency in operating machining tools (lathes, mills, grinders).
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, and maintain pumps, valves, motors, gearboxes, and other mechanical components.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including disassembly and reassembly of parts.
• Operate lathes, milling machines, and other precision tools to fabricate parts.
• Modify or customize components to meet operational needs.
• Perform welding and fabrication for infrastructure repair.
• Inspect systems for wear, corrosion, and performance issues.
• Run tests to verify efficiency after repairs or installations.
• Collaborate with engineers to implement improved solutions.
• Adhere to safety protocols including LOTO and PPE usage.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and document maintenance activities.
• Assist in training team members or apprentices.
