Job summary

Garland is seeking a Lead Water Systems Operator to supervise 24/7 dispatch and call center activities for the water utility. You will support evening and night operations, ensure optimal water pressure, monitor inflow and tank levels, and coordinate field crews.

The role requires a Class C Water Distribution license, a Class II Wastewater Collection license, and at least five years of experience. A valid Texas driver license and strong supervisory and scheduling skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Class C Water Distribution Operator License (Texas).
• Class II Wastewater Collection License.
• 5 years of experience or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 dispatch and field coordination for the water system.
• Lead and supervise junior operators.
• Oversee evening and night operations decisions.
• Develop and implement 24/7 work schedules.
• Coordinate after-hours municipal call center and dispatch.
• Maintain departmental water pressure and monitor tank levels.
