Stantec, a global leader in sustainable engineering, invites a Water Resources Engineer / Project Manager to join its Great Lakes environment team in Minnesota. You will support client management, project delivery, and provide technical guidance on water resources projects from planning through construction.

This role emphasizes independent work on small projects and collaboration on larger efforts, with travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Well-developed understanding of hydraulic and hydrologic analyses and conveyance engineering design.
• Excellent time management with task assignment, schedule, and budgeting.
• Efficient use of time and resources with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in hydrology modeling and 1D/2D hydraulic modeling software, such as HydroCAD, SWMM, RAS; GIS, CAD knowledge.
• Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections, etc.

Responsibilities

• Participate in, and support, a wide variety of water related projects, including planning and conceptual design, and detailed design and implementation.
• Perform or review all aspects of design (grading, drainage, water, hydrology, erosion control, etc.) with an emphasis on technical and project delivery excellence.
• Lead water resource planning studies for conveyance, flood analysis, water quality and ecological benefits.
• Complete tasks and delegate specific project tasks to other team members as appropriate. Provide management, guidance, training, and oversight of project staff.
• Prepare technical reports, concept designs, construction specifications, construction drawings, bidding documents, and permit applications for approval.
• Lead or participate in the permitting process of projects, which may require meetings with clients, contractors, reviewing agency personnel, and governing entities.
• Coordinate and manage multiple projects and interface with clients, government agencies, and other Stantec offices / business units.
