Job summary

LVI Associates seeks a Practice Lead - Water Resources in Houston to drive growth, lead a high-performing team, and oversee complex water projects across Texas. This senior role blends technical leadership with client development and strategic direction.

The candidate will mentor engineers, manage client relationships, and contribute to shaping the firm’s water resources presence regionally, while delivering projects on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• PE license required.
• 12+ years of water resources engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading teams and managing client relationships.
• Strong background in H&H modeling, drainage design, floodplain analysis, and stormwater management.
• Experience with tools such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, InfoWorks ICM, XP-SWMM, or similar.
• Demonstrated success winning and delivering municipal or public-sector projects.
• Strong communication, leadership, and business development skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Houston Water Resources practice.
• Manage and develop a team of engineers, project managers, and technical staff.
• Drive business development efforts and expand existing client relationships.
• Oversee the delivery of complex hydrology and hydraulics projects.
• Provide technical leadership on flood risk management, drainage, stormwater, and watershed projects.
• Develop strategic growth plans and support regional expansion initiatives.
• Lead project pursuits, proposals, interviews, and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with leaders across transportation, land development, and water infrastructure groups.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and support succession planning.
• Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
